Fade
It can also be called as a taper style. This is has proven to be very common among men of all ages. The term fade refers to how the amount of hair fades from the top to the bottom. At the top, the volume of the hair is very high and as it goes down, the volumes keep reducing. The variation in the fade depends on where the fade begins. This can be chosen based on the type of hair you want and also the shape of your head. The common type of fade is a mid and low fade. Undercut
This hairstyle in terms of its structure is quite similar to that of the fade. The major difference is that the volume of the hair on top is much more when compared to that of a fade. So the appearance of the hair is quite different in an undercut. The similarity between this style and a fade is that in both the styles, the sides and the lower part of the hair has very little volume. It also has the added advantage of being quite a cool hairstyle.
Pompadour
This is a variation on the undercut but it has its own distinct look. Again, this hairstyle has very short sides and a long front. But the difference in appearance comes to the way in which the hair in front is shaped. It is pulled up to create what is known as a pomp.
Quiff
A hairstyle that shares many similarities with the pompadour but with one crucial difference. In the pompadour, the hair is combed backward and then pulled up to create the pomp. But, in the quiff, the hair is combed forward. A quiff can have a very set look but more often than not it is left to have a messy look which is quite good on its own.
